With every chance to save money, many brides DIY their decor, but what do you do with it afterward? Jacquelina Paiva launched First Look Decor to help declutter your homes of those wedding DIYs and give other brides the chance to showcase them at their reception.
A newly engaged bride herself, Jacquelina Paiva has been in the wedding industry for quite some time. As a photographer, she captures the beautiful, sentimental homemade decor, and while photos last forever, so do the DIYs. While she understands it’s a great way to save money on your big day, not everyone has the space in their homes to store it after the celebrations.
“Everyone wants to be a DIY bride, but it’s so hard to do,” Paiva says. “After the wedding, there’s nowhere to put it.”
By launching her decor rental business First Look Decor, it gives brides the opportunity to shop other’s DIYs and save both money and space. Brides have even offered to add their own pieces to the rental inventory after their wedding, Paiva says.
First Look Decor offers mirrors, large signs and table numbers, all of which can be easily customizable and DIY’ed by each wedding party. Rentals can be used for all weddings in Rhode Island as the storage facility is based out of Providence. Decor themes include boho, minimal, gold tones, plants, vintage, wicker, rustic wooden and even coastal — most of which come from Paiva’s own wedding decor planning collection. The collection continues to grow as more brides add their own special touches.
Rental services are available now, but you’ll have to wait until Jan. 1, 2023 as they are booked solid for the rest of the year. Bonus: rentals can be delivered and setup by First Look Decor for an additional cost and picked up the same night. For multiple day weddings, rentals can be picked up the next day, if the venue allows.
