Alexis Ciacciarelli of Smithfield, Rhode Island, and Joseph Iannucci of North Providence, Rhode Island are engaged! The Tinder match will wed on October 8, 2022 at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
How We Met
In July of 2016, we both swiped right! We met online where we both had no idea we would be finding our future spouse! At the time, I was living in Cranston and Joe was working in Cranston on the weekends, which must have tipped off Tinder that we were in radius of each other. I will always be thankful for that college job he had in Cranston because if he didn’t, I don’t think we would have met. We texted for about a couple days, until I told Joe I was Italian, then he asked me on our first date! He must have thought if he stuck around, I would be cooking him homemade authentic Italian food and baking egg biscuits all the time, he was right! On our first date, we had dinner and went to see Finding Dory. After that, the rest was history! We spent the first three years of our relationship only seeing each other on the weekends, which made our love for each other much stronger. Joe was attending the University of Hartford studying mechanical engineering and I was in school obtaining my bachelor’s in nursing. We spent our weekends together traveling to his cabin in New Hampshire, exploring the terrain on our ATVs, which brought out the adventurous side of me. Now that we are both living in the same town, we do a lot of traveling to New Hampshire, finding new restaurants to go to and traveling the Northeast to see the scenery! The only problem we really have, is that Joe can’t accept the fact that my Ancestry DNA states I am 90 percent Italian, and he is only 50 percent. Sorry Joe.
Our Proposal Story
On October 1, 2021, we were getting ready to leave for a week-long trip to Joe’s cabin in New Hampshire to take in the fall foliage. I had a feeling he was going to propose this trip because he made a few comments in the days leading up to the trip about getting married. On Saturday, October 9, 2021, our trip was coming to an end. He asked if I wanted to go for an ATV ride to the lake on his property. Of course, I said yes and I ran upstairs to quickly do my makeup and my hair, just in case. We got to the lake and took some pictures of the beautiful foliage. I thanked him for another perfect trip, and he said, “almost perfect” and that’s when he got on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said yes!
