Elizabeth McDonough of Osterville, Massachusetts, and Jeffrey Harkey of Millis, Massachusetts, are set to wed October 9, 2021.
How We Met
Elizabeth and Jeffrey met when they were just two little freshman at Bridgewater State University. They lived a few doors down from each other in the dormitory. From the moment Jeff first saw Liz studying in the lounge area of their floor, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Every day he would attempt to talk to her, eventually succeeding, and the two became inseparable best friends. They did laundry together, ate meals together, and stayed up until sunrise telling stories from their pasts. Eventually, the two realized it was love and they’ve been together for almost eight years now.
Our Proposal Story
Liz is a teacher who had a one-week break in February 2020. Jeff also had that week off but the two did not have any plans. On Valentine’s Day, Jeff decided to book a very last-minute trip for the couple to Jamaica! it was booked on Friday for a Monday morning departure. It was an amazing getaway and escape from reality. On February 20, the couple had a private candlelight dinner overlooking the ocean at sunset. It was truly magical as the sun set over the crashing waves. Jeff was nervous and much more quiet than usual. He talked about how happy he was to take care of Elizabeth for the rest of their lives if she would let him. He got down on one knee and opened the teal velvet box revealing the most beautiful diamond ring. Elizabeth was so surprised and overjoyed and happily said, ‘Yes!’ as tears of joy ran down her face. He promised her a lifetime of happiness, support and love.
