Deana Adamo of Cranston, RI, and Alexander Parrillo of Scituate, RI, are set to wed September 20, 2020 at the Towers in Narragansett, RI.
How We Met
In January of 2013, I started working at Panera Bread in Cranston. Alex had already been working there for a few months! We had always had fun conversations and playful times from the start. So much so, that when I was supposed to be at the register helping customers, I was always down on the line talking to Alex constantly.
As the months went on, our bond became stronger and we started officially dating September 20th, 2013! Throughout the years, we have traveled many places together, shared many weekends out eating at a lot of yummy restaurants and spending time down in Narragansett. It’s nice because we can go from just laying low and going to the movies to skydiving…which we’ve done TWICE together! We have gone as far as Mexico and as close as weekend getaways in Newport. We love a good, long vacation, but also love our weekend getaways! Narragansett has always had a special place in our heart so we always somehow ended up down there. About four years ago, we were at our favorite restaurant, Trio, and in casual conversation we were looking across the street at the Narragansett Towers. We started to talk about how one day, when we got married, how special it would be to have our wedding there!
Our Proposal Story
In September of 2019, on our six-year anniversary, Alex popped the question! We were in Disney, staying at the Boardwalk resort. The day went so smoothly, from the plane ride and the ride to the resort to checking in and having our room ready within twenty minutes to getting into our dinning reservation at Ohana early! After dinner, we were heading back to the resort and, as we separately went through security, Alex was stopped because the ring box had gone off in his pocket! Luckily, I was in a different line and didn’t notice, mostly because my security guard was making interesting conversation about how Disney can fit perfectly in the state of R.I. with it being forty-two square miles! As great as everything was going, I assumed something bad had to happen! As we got on the monorail to head back to the resort, a little boy entered after us. As the monorail had taken off, the little boy became super sick and threw up right on Alex….(while the ring was in his pocket!!) We were all in shock and even more so tried to get back to the resort as fast as possible. After showering, changing and getting back to the plan, we left and went for a walk on the boardwalk and over to the Yacht Club beach. Once we got there, Alex asked me to take a picture with the pretty scenery! Ben (Alex’s brother) and Natty (Alex’s mom) got their phones ready and as soon as the picture was done, I started to walk away and that’s when Alex stopped and said, “There’s one more thing I have to ask you…” From that moment, my life was complete. We decided that our seven-year anniversary would be the perfect day to get married!!
