Before we even began planning our wedding, I knew I wanted to work with Easy Entertaining as our caterer. Their Café on Valley Street has been one of my favorite lunch spots for a couple years, and paired with following their gastronomic journey through their Instagram (@eentertaining), I was sure they’d share our vision. After sending them an inquiry and confirming that they had our date available, we began working together to create a menu.
At first, Lee and I made the mistake of being far too general with our taste, likes, and dislikes. We thought we were making things easier, but in fact we were making their job much more difficult. We hadn’t been specific enough for them to narrow down a palette that went together cohesively, so it took a few tries for us to really get it right. For people like Lee and I who love any kind of food and don’t consider ourselves to be picky, it was exceptionally difficult for us to think about what we truly like, and what we think our guests will enjoy. Luckily, our event coordinator at EE was patient with us (even through our most fickle times!) and we ended up with a menu that we fell head over heels for.
Throughout this entire wedding planning process, it’s become more and more apparent to me that choosing your vendors carefully would be my best advice. This probably seems like a given, but it’s important to remember that those who are willing to work with you are incredibly valuable, rather than those who have no malleability. To these parameters, Easy Entertaining has been stellar.
Now that the food’s taken care of, on to the next task!
