The Trends

Bridal hair and makeup has certainly evolved over the last decade due, in part, to social media. There are endless amounts of inspirational beauty content that range from super glam to very natural looks. However, we are finding most of our brides are looking for hair and makeup that’s classic, elegant and organic. Glowing skin, soft curls and a rosebud lip are the most requested trends we are seeing. Those three trends together create that timeless look that brides will love ten, twenty, thirty-plus years from now. 

The Tips

Stay true to you. Your wedding day isn’t the time to try out a new look that doesn’t reflect the real you. I always encourage brides to think mindfully about their beauty routines on a day-to-day basis and to channel that. For example, if you never wear your hair up, don’t start on your wedding day. Or, if you never leave the house without winged eyeliner, then by all means, rock it on the big day! Obviously, it’s our job as the hair and makeup artists to create a long-wearing, photo-friendly, well-executed look, but it’s the job of the bride to be mindful of what makes them feel the most comfortable and beautiful.
