Melissa Rollings of Coventry and Chris Hatch of Ashaway are set to wed on August 16, 2019.

How We Met

Chris and I met through online dating. Who would have thought I would meet my future husband on Plenty of Fish! He was newly single ( three days) yet I was dabbling in online dating for about six months. We met at Fat Belly’s in Coventry which is a local pub for a drink on a boring Tuesday night… We ended up closing the bar down and we have been together since.

Our Proposal Story

Chris was very thoughtful in his proposal. He purchased the ring in October 2017 and kept it in his coat pocket for two months. He ended up surprising me by popping the question at my home in the entryway with a large unique vase of gorgeous flowers which consisted of red and pink roses, baby’s breath and hydrangeas (my favorite). He specially arranged the flowers and included a one page hand-written love note. This was significant because although we dated for sixteen months, he was never invited into my home until after our one year anniversary of dating. I was a single mom to a teenage girl and it was a big deal for me to be open to a “real” relationship and to include my one and only daughter. Chris explained that the moment he was welcomed into my home and my life was “monumental.”
