Tell us about your day: Steve and I have been together for almost seven years and we both moved to Portsmouth, RI four years ago. We are both in our early fifties and took our time as it is so critical to take it slow when you are blending a family of four children. Steve has two boys and I have two girls. We wanted to celebrate with a short ceremony and a great party; the goal was for Steve, me and our guests to dance the night away. This was accomplished with a ten-piece Motown band from Boston. Our four children stood up for us and our friend Sam Valenti who introduced us, officiated the wedding. Flowers were by Sayles Livingston, and it turns out that she and I are distant cousins. My grandmother was Mary Lamper Sayles and the Sayles family is one of the oldest in Rhode Island.
