This simple project is doable for anyone.

To keep myself busy, like last week, I started to work on another DIY project. I’ve fallen in love with the adorable chalkboard wedding sign trend and decided to take a shot at it myself. I was thinking of having multiple signs displayed through out the venue: a welcome sign, a menu, a signature drink ingredients list and, of course, an #Instagram sign.
I’ve worked a lot with chalkboard paint before and felt comfortable enough to use it again. (It’s really easy folks.) I took the cardboard fill-ins that came with my picture frames and covered them with paint (outside). I let them dry for about twenty minutes and then came the fun part. I found these great liquid chalk markers online, which are perfect for tons of erasable surfaces — mirrors, white boards, chalkboards, etc. They gave my writing a nice thick line, kind of like paint. I could easily go over each stroke again and again to make it really bright, but the best part is they erase! Pretty cool! I also found this great, tattoo/sticker-like add-on for my chalkboard menu. All I had to do was peel off the backing and rub it on. (Come on, anyone can do this!)
I think they came out great. Even with a few misspellings here and there (that I didn’t notice til now), they are just what I envisioned. They are going to look so fun at CAV on the beautiful oak bar under the twinkly lights.
Although I’m continuing to complete stuff for the wedding, I’m still feeling wary about how this will all play out. The new house is in our future, and with all the boxes stacking up, it seems everything’s happening so fast. I’m excited to have such a great adventure ahead, but I really want this wedding to happen and would hate to have to cancel it. For now I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my dreams don’t float away.
