Save-the-dates are out…time to spruce up the wedding website.

With only 172 days to go, my wedding website was in need of some real work. I figured with my save the dates in the mail and en route their intended destinations, it was time to put in the time and fix up my so-called wedding website. To my surprise, fifty-six guests had already stopped by to take a look at my site and there was nothing to it. Seriously — nothing other than our names and wedding date were visible on a really cute chalkboard background. I was a bit embarrassed.
Liam and I chose theknot.com’s wedding website because 1) it’s free, 2) because it’s easy, and 3) for its really trendy fun designs. After playing the role of graphic designer last week, I had so much fun diving into the webpage. Adding our lovely save-the-date picture as the heading and typing up the “how we met” story were just a few pieces that made this page so fun. It was nice to reminisce about our past and how we came to be as a couple. There was also a page to easily add our registry website and link up our collection of stores. From Anthropologie to Target, they were all there (with pictures too!). Scrolling through the different pages, the site even offers one for guests to write in and personalize your page. It’s all quite adorable if you ask me. It puts all the necessary information in one place, and because it’s so easily accessible through the Internet, this is great for all my tech-savvy guests. There’s even a page that holds all our hotel information and offers space to add sites for guests who decide to stay a while. From local restaurants to must-see tourist attractions, it was an easy way to spread the information. I’m happy I added this link to the back of my save the dates…I just wish I had gotten to it sooner (hope I didn’t disappoint some of my guests!). In the end my easy breezy wedding website is something I’m proud to share with all my friends and family.
