It’s all about the dress…and the shoes.
Once I had my dress, I had to find the perfect shoes. My mom, Brenda and I had planned a trip to Boston to find the perfect sparkly pair. I knew I didn’t want heels (1) because I can’t walk in them, (2) because I don’t want my feet to kill after an hour, and (3) everybody knows I don’t wear heels. I, however, did know that I wanted red bottoms, aka Louboutins. When else would it be okay for me to buy a really expensive pair of shoes? A wedding is a pretty good excuse! I had this pair in my mind, however, we realized after store one in Boston that they were an older style and stores no longer carry them. At store number two I was told essentially ‘good luck trying to find your shoes, you should have bought them way before now.’ (Woman, I am four months out. I think I’ll be able to find shoes, but thanks for your help!)
At store number three, Neiman Marcus, we found my perfect Cinderella shoes. It was like the light was shining right on them saying ‘pick me, pick me!’ I tried them on, walked around the store in them and absolutely fell in love. With a little encouragement from my mom and Brenda, I bought them and absolutely cannot wait to wear them!
When I brought them home to show my dad and Adam their first question was (of course), “How much?” My response was, “Don’t ask any questions and I won’t tell you any lies because you just don’t understand.” My dad’s second comment was, “But, Amanda, I don’t get it. When you’re kneeling up at the altar…if people can see your shoes…they’re going to see red on the bottom…do you want that?” (Uhhh, dad, that’s the point.)
I knew I wanted shoes for my wedding that I would wear over and over again and these are certainly them. I can dress them up, dress them down, but one thing is for sure: They are absolutely perfect.
