Knowing we’re about seven months out from our wedding, I took a risk and purchased an important item online: the flower girl dress <span=”ital”>(dun-dun-duun!). I have never really gone through the process of purchasing clothing online and knew that anything from receiving the wrong items to the wrong sizes of the right items was possible. With an infinite number of potential problems, I was a bit frightened but nevertheless trusted my gut and decided to give it a try. Curled up on the couch drinking tea with my nana, an adorable ad for zulily.com came on the TV. We immediately reached for the iPad to take a peek. I was a bit skeptical at first having to enter my email before searching but again trusting my gut and, with a few types on the keypad, I was in.
Wow! We were both blown away by the prices! The dresses were so adorable and so affordable. They had so many options for little girls — dresses in so many different colors and styles and fabrics. Scrolling from page to page we both had a certain style in mind. Keeping our eyes out for a longer dress, hopefully white or ivory, maybe with a small sleeve. Somewhere around page three we found a gown that stood out to both of us. With its innocent illusion neckline and pearls across the chest, it was ideal for our winter wedding. It was entirely made of this light and airy chiffon fabric that would just touch the tips of her tiny toes. And the bow — oh my gosh, the bow! It’s my favorite part! Nesting in the small of her back is a big bow, the perfect touch for any flower girl. Of course after finding the dress we needed shoes to go along with it, and the prices were unbeatable. We stumbled across these delicate ballerina slippers in ivory and, without hesitation, added them to cart.
Now, knowing my daughter is a growing girl we decided to go with the bigger size than she is now and hopefully they wouldn’t be too big. The Fed Ex truck finally came this week after making the purchase in the beginning of May, but the wait was worth it. As Myla stepped into the gown and I zipped her up I knew it was made for her. With just a little room for growth it’s a perfect fit. Even the ballerina slippers we chose slipped on like gloves, and it was all less than $75. I am happy as a clam with my Zulily purchase and will be visiting their site again (she still needs a jacket after all).
