Just as wedding expos aren’t right for every bride, the word ‘expo’ isn’t right for every wedding-related event. If smaller is more your speed, and handcrafted is more in-line with your wedding vocabulary, you might want to get yourself to Warren in late April for the Muse Wedding Event, a two-day jewelry trunk show of sorts that will also feature fun DIY sessions.
“I always have a selection of unique, customizable pieces in the store, but I’ll have even more in stock for the event,” says Elizabeth Kiepert, Muse owner. The event will also feature jewelry making instructional sessions (think bridesmaids’ gifts, ladies), DIY succulent garden workshops from The Greenery (hello, centerpieces) and a jewelry info session with artist and gemologist LeeAnn Herreid of Individual Icons. As if that wasn’t reason enough, participants will also be treated to complimentary hors d’oeuvres from Simply Devine.
Those of you unfamiliar with Muse should remedy that. It’s a fabulous shop that features a unique collection of American handcrafted gifts and jewelry, including a healthy stock of wedding rings. When she opened Muse’s doors eight years ago, Kiepert didn’t intend for it to be that way. But, as more couples look for ways to personalize their weddings and all of its elements, Kiepert noticed a growing demand for customizable handcrafted jewelry. Today, she carries wedding-related products by about thirty-five different artisans.
The two-day event will be held Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 at Muse, 420 Main St., Warren. Couples interested in making an appointment to check out the Muse stock at the event can call Muse at 289-2150, and while Kiepert recommends pre-registering for the DIY classes, it’s not required (to register, click here). The $5 pre-registration fee goes toward your supplies for the class. Jewelry making will be held at 1 p.m. on both days, and the succulent garden session will be held at 3 p.m. both days. Kiepert, who will be leading the DIY jewelry sessions, says she’ll offer different styles and materials for participants based on three price points to help DIY-ers stay on budget (sweet).
