Do you remember playing dress-up as a kid? Whether you played with old Halloween costumes, your babysitter’s hand-me-down prom dresses or vintage frocks from a thrift shop, dress-up was always a blast. Trying on wedding dresses is the ultimate game of dress-up. It should be fun. It should get you pumped about your big day and be a bonding experience for you and whomever you choose to bring along. Most of all, you should feel comfortable and beautiful, whether you’re a size two or a twenty-two.
Virtually every bride and bridal consultant would agree that trying a dress on before you buy it is super important. Seeing a dress on a hanger (or in a magazine or on someone else) is no way to gauge how it will look on you. Although most bridal shops carry sample sizes in eights, tens and twelves, that doesn’t work for every bride.
